Who we are

BIG SERVICES is the organisation responsible for the personal information described in this notice (the controller). Our company number is 17502771. Our registered office is 71-75 Shelton Street, London, WC2H 9JQ. You can contact us about anything in this notice at Jscott@bigservices.app.

What we collect and why

We collect different information depending on how you deal with us.

• Enquiries through our quote form: your name, contact details, address and postcode, any photos and description of the work, and your budget and timing. We use this to prepare and agree a quote with you.
• Careers applications: your name, contact details, postcode, the trades you work in, any note you add, and your CV. We use this to consider you for work with us.
• Customers: your contact details, your property's address and what3words, your quotes, invoices and payment records, and photos taken during visits to your property. We use this to carry out the work, invoice you, and keep the records the law requires.
• Website visitors: the public website does not set cookies. Our hosting provider's analytics (named below) collects aggregate page views without identifying you.

We rely on one of the following grounds for using your information: performing a contract with you, our legitimate interests in running the business (for example, considering a job application), or a legal obligation such as keeping financial records.

Team members

With a team member's consent, we publish their name, photo and short bio on our website, and they can withdraw that consent at any time. While someone works for us, we also process their contact details, home postcode, trade skills, right-to-work and insurance documents, and pay details, and we record the location and photos taken during the property visits they carry out.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only with the organisations that help us run the business, and only as far as each one needs to do its job:

• Supabase stores our database and files, hosted in London.
• Vercel hosts the website and provides its analytics.
• Resend sends emails on our behalf.
• Stripe takes card payments — it sees your payment details, but we do not store your card number.
• postcodes.io looks up postcodes.
• Open-Meteo gives us a weather forecast for a property's coordinates. This involves no personal data.
• Cloudflare Turnstile checks that our forms are being filled in by a person, not a bot.

We do not share personal information with anyone else.

How long we keep it

We keep records for as long as we need them to do the work and to meet legal record-keeping duties, including six years for financial records. If your application is unsuccessful we keep it only as an archived record, and we will remove it from active use if you ask.

If you ask us to delete your data we remove your account, contact details, property details, messages, notes and photos, and stop marketing immediately. Invoices, payments and refunds are kept for six years as tax law requires, with your name and address frozen on the invoice. We keep a scrambled copy of your email address only so that we never market to you again.

Service reminders

If you've bought from us before, we may email you about similar services, no more than once a month. Every one of these emails has an unsubscribe link, and you can switch them off at any time in your account.

Your rights

You can ask us for access to your personal information, to correct it, to have it erased, to object to how we use it, or to receive a copy in a portable format. Contact us at Jscott@bigservices.app to ask about any of these.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
